San Antonio KOA

San Antonio KOA

Sunday, May 5 Through Wednesday, May 8, 2019

Sunday around lunch, we arrived at the San Antonio KOA.  On the drive from Kerrville, we talked mostly about how much we enjoyed the truck camper rally.  How much we learned.  Tons of good and valuable information was shared and we needed to talk about it.

We had tickets for the Carrie Underwood Cry Pretty Tour concert Monday night.   The concert was amazingly good.

We arrived around 6:00 PM when the doors opened.  We weren’t the first people in our section but nearly so.  The warm up acts were OK.  I hadn’t heard of the two bands before.  Linda had.

Carrie Underwood and her band played for over two and a half hours.  They had amazing stamina.  Songs from Cry Pretty were played, Carrie Underwood’s latest album.  One song from the album she didn’t play in San Antonio was “Ghosts on the Stereo,” a favorite of mine.  Some popular songs like “Blown Away” were played as well.  At some point, the singers from the warm up bands joined Underwood to sing a medley of songs from famous women country music stars from the past.  It was a tastefully done memorial honoring iconic country women singers.

I highly recommend this concert tour.  If you are an Underwood fan, now is the time to see her on tour.

Tuesday, I had a stress test in my cardiologist’s office.  Test results indicate some sort of new heart issue.  It is possible that our Alaska trip may be affected by the test results from additional test scheduled for the end of May.

I took the truck into the dealer for an oil change and state inspection Wednesday morning.  After remounting the camper, we loaded up our Explorer for the three day drive to St. Louis.

After stopping for lunch at Whataburger, we fueled up the Explorer at Nooners before heading east on I-10, then north on TX-130 (Austin bypass toll road).  We were on the road driving through thunderstorms spanning San Antonio to Dallas.  Great day to be driving on I-35.

Hope to see you on the road ahead!
