The Dole Plantation is all about pineapples. There are peaceful train rides through pineapple fields, gentle walks through a pineapple garden maze and a plantation garden tour of tropical plants and trees. We always do the train ride.
The anchor for all of this is a first rate pineapple themed convenience store with an onsite restaurant. Get the ice cream with fresh locally grown pineapple in it. A treat for sure.

Every year, new pineapple themed t-shirts are for sale. Every year a new design has my name on it.
We have taken The Bus to the Dole Plantation before. It takes at least an hour and a half each way.
While the drive from Waikiki to the Dole Plantation is only 26 miles, it an take up to an hour or more each way depending on the traffic. Traffic depends on time of day and day of week.
The plantations is open from 9:30 to 5:30 daily. This is a fairly popular venue and is always crowded by lunch time. Tour buses stop here regularly and it is common for the parking lot to fill up. Midweek is less busy than weekends.
We have been to the Dole Plantation at least six times and plan to visit it whenever we are on Oahu, it is that much fun!
Hope to see you on the road ahead!
